Adam Johnson to be paid £15 a week to attend sex offender's course in cell

The 28-year-old, who earned £60,000 a week with Sunderland before he was sacked, will get up to £15 a week while finishing the recovery program.

A Prison Service representative said:

Previous prisoner Jermaine James recommended Johnson might need to pay detainees to secure him:

"He might need to pay cash to culprits to secure him. I am not proposing he is going to do that, but rather it is a component for him."
